Madagascar were nabbed at the Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR: Two women from Madagascar were nabbed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Wednesday oil painting for smuggling in more than 400 animals that were destined to be sold off as pets.

The women, aged 20 and 30, were wheeling out two bags when they were detained by Customs officers.oil painting
Department of Wildlife and National Parks director-general Datuk Abd Rashid Samsudin said they found 369 radiated tortoises, 47 tomato frogs, and several chameleons, all native to Madagascar, stuffed inside.

The women face a maximum fine of RM 1 million or seven years' jail, or both, upon conviction.
